Inclusiv – Annual Report 2022

For me, it means moving beyond simply producing content or executing communications tactics and instead creating a deliberate strategy that connects business objectives, audience needs, messaging, channels, resources, and measurable outcomes.
A strong communications strategy should answer five fundamental questions: What are we trying to accomplish? Who do we need to reach? What do we want them to think, feel, or do? Which channels and tactics will be most effective? And how will we know whether the strategy is working?
This approach creates a communications framework that is purposeful, audience-centric, data-informed, measurable, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Project Overview
This project reinforced my belief that the most effective communications strategies connect business objectives with audience insight, compelling storytelling, strategic media, integrated marketing communications, and measurable performance.
The lasting outcome is a strategic communications framework that demonstrates how I approach complex marketing, media, brand, and communications challenges: with curiosity, rigor, creativity, collaboration, and a relentless focus on measurable impact.

Project Outcome
This annual report gave me the opportunity to bring an elevated approach to strategic communications, impact storytelling, brand communications, content strategy, stakeholder engagement, and thought leadership to Inclusiv.
What I saw in the organization was enormous potential. Inclusiv had a remarkable story to tell: hundreds of community-based financial institutions, millions of members, billions of dollars in community-controlled assets, affordable housing initiatives, social impact investing, racial equity programs, climate finance, and policy advocacy. My goal was to help communicate that story at the level it deserved.
I wanted to move communications beyond simply reporting what happened and toward showing why the work mattered. The annual report became an opportunity to connect financial performance with human impact, organizational growth with community transformation, and policy achievements with tangible outcomes.
Ultimately, I recognized that my desire to innovate, elevate the brand, embrace change, and build a more ambitious communications culture exceeded the organization’s willingness to make that transformation at the time. I chose to move forward in search of more growth-minded organizations that see communications as a strategic driver rather than simply a support function.
I remain proud of what I contributed and of the bigger vision I saw for the organization. The experience strengthened my conviction that the right communications leader can turn complex information into compelling stories, build stakeholder trust, elevate a brand, and create a culture where great communications helps drive organizational growth.
That is the kind of organization I am looking for, and the kind of communications culture I am ready to build.
