Inclusiv – Puerto Rico CDFI Convening

This flyer was designed to promote the 2023 Puerto Rico CDFI Convening through a clear, professional event marketing and communications strategy.

The design establishes the event identity while communicating the date, location, sponsorship structure, and strategic partnerships.

The convening was held at the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico and brought together stakeholders working across financial inclusion, community development, CDFI lending, cooperative finance, and economic resilience.

From a marketing perspective, the flyer serves as both an informational asset and a brand-building tool. It creates awareness, supports stakeholder engagement, reinforces organizational credibility, and provides a foundation for broader event marketing, digital communications, social media promotion, email marketing, and partnership outreach.
The Spanish-language flyer extends the event’s communications strategy by making the convening more accessible and relevant to its Puerto Rican audience.

The bilingual approach recognizes the importance of inclusive communications, audience engagement, cultural relevance, community outreach, and stakeholder accessibility.

Rather than simply treating Spanish as a translation, the localized communications asset helps ensure that the event speaks directly to the communities and cooperative leaders it was designed to serve.

The flyer supports Inclusiv’s broader positioning around financial inclusion, cooperative development, community investment, economic opportunity, and strategic partnerships.

Project Overview

I developed bilingual promotional materials for the 2023 Puerto Rico CDFI Convening, supporting Inclusiv’s efforts to bring together credit unions, financial institutions, government agencies, community development leaders, and strategic partners around financial inclusion and economic opportunity.

The English and Spanish flyers promoted a convening focused on CDFI development, community resilience, cooperative finance, sustainable growth, lender capacity, social impact investment, and climate finance.

The bilingual approach helped strengthen accessibility and audience engagement while supporting Inclusiv’s brand presence in Puerto Rico.

Presentation

  • This flyer was designed to promote the 2023 Puerto Rico CDFI Convening through a clear, professional event marketing and communications strategy.
  • This agenda transforms a complex, full-day program into a clear communications and event-management tool. The programming brought together senior leaders from Inclusiv, Citi, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, SBA, Deutsche Bank, and the CDFI and credit union community. Topics included financial inclusion, community resilience, CDFI recovery, community development, lender capacity, innovation, social impact investment, and sustainable growth. From a content strategy perspective, the agenda also represents a significant opportunity for thought leadership, speaker promotion, public relations, social media content, digital storytelling, post-event communications, and stakeholder engagement. The second-day programming expanded the conversation into climate finance and clean-energy investment, demonstrating the evolving role of credit unions in sustainable community development.
  • The Spanish-language flyer extends the event’s communications strategy by making the convening more accessible and relevant to its Puerto Rican audience.
  • The Spanish-language agenda ensured that attendees could access detailed programming in the language most relevant to the Puerto Rican community. The content highlights the same broad strategic themes of financial inclusion, community development, economic resilience, cooperative finance, lender capacity, social impact investment, and sustainable growth. Providing bilingual event communications strengthens accessibility, audience experience, stakeholder engagement, and community trust. It also reinforces the importance of adapting marketing and communications strategies to the needs of diverse audiences. The special session on green finance and greenhouse-gas reduction further positioned the convening at the intersection of climate resilience, sustainable finance, clean energy, and community investment.

Project Outcome

Building a Bigger Vision for Inclusiv

This project gave me an opportunity to bring an elevated approach to strategic communications, event marketing, stakeholder engagement, thought leadership, content strategy, and brand positioning to Inclusiv’s work in Puerto Rico.

The Puerto Rico CDFI Convening demonstrated the tremendous potential of the organization and its network. The event brought together leaders from financial institutions, government, CDFIs, credit unions, and community development organizations to address some of the most important issues facing Puerto Rico, including financial inclusion, economic resilience, community investment, sustainable growth, and climate finance.

I saw an opportunity to build on that foundation with a more ambitious communications culture: one that would proactively tell Inclusiv’s story, elevate its experts, amplify its partners, strengthen its brand, and translate complex financial and policy issues into compelling narratives for broader audiences.

Realization

Ultimately, I realized that my appetite for growth, innovation, strategic change, and communications excellence was greater than the organization’s appetite for transformation at that moment. Rather than seeing that as a setback, I chose to move forward in search of organizations that are ready to embrace change and recognize communications as a strategic driver of growth.

I believe the right organization is out there looking for exactly this kind of leadership. My goal is to help that organization build a strong, winning, efficient, and effective communications culture that turns strategy into action and mission into measurable impact.
